Our N-spec BB6 Prelude is a well prepared car and everyone had a chance to get used to it's character, which everyone decided was a good one with great balance.
As we all got used to the seat shifting positions, power, handling and for 5 of us, learning the track in just a few laps was an interesting experience.
For me personally, the amount of things to learn was large, and I made a mental notes of the things I would need to work on during the race.
Here is Aki learning that pushing hard creates understeer.
Simon heading out to sample the other honda. A bit different to NSX I'm sure.
He circulated well and gave me some pointers on braking points that really helped me know a good safe limit for the car before my session.
Some of the BIG Budget teams were preparing their 10 sets of S-tyres.
This JIC wide body turbo SW20 MR2 would go on on to win the event. Very Very Fast and Very Very well prepared. It would usually appear from nowhere flash by while I was trying to pass someone else.
This MR-S would not finish after some off-track excursions. The same limits of adhesion and stupidity apply to all.
I set up a pit board logo for us. Most of the time the IN was the only thing we needed. Later we went to a 3.2.IN approach for the race.
Pulling in for some adjustments.
Then out again for some harrassment. We should just rip off the exhaust. It would be quieter than this straight pipe Roadster. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
This is Rod on the center hairpin.
Downhill from here is fun but a little unsettling in traffic when you are forced wide.
